The first was published in the [B] 1324 Bhadra and Aswhin issues of Narayan magazine edited by the Deshbandhu (Friend of the Nation) C. R. Das. The latter was so pleased with the story that he issued a blank cheque to the author. Ekadoshi Bairagee was published in the Kartik issue of the same year in Bharatbarsha. GCS published the collection on 18th February 1918 as a book. Swami was translated to Marathi language (and was named Soudamini) by Shankarbalaji Shastri in 1927.
