After the first 9 chapters were published in ([B] 1336-38), publication of Benu stopped in the wake of the Writers Building battle in which the famous trio Binoy-Badal-Dinesh died and most of the other patriots of the BV were imprisoned. Later Bipradas was publised serially in full in Bichitra. The novel was finally published by GCS on 1st February, 1935 (Magh [B] 1341).
