Mrinalini
Mrinalini, which was set at the time of the first Muslim invasion of Bengal, was published in 1869. The character of Manaroma is accepted as one of the most intriguing the author was said to have created. Much was written at length in the literary chronicles of that time regarding this unprecedented female character. Mrinalisni was translated to Hindi in 1880.
